The Causes of your back pain :
Typically, if you're suffering from back pain, it will have been caused by one of the following two mechanisms:
-direct injury
-postural overload
Some common examples of when a direct injury can occur are:
-fall
-lifting
-pulling
-car collision
-bending
some common examples of when a postural overload can cause back pain are:
-occupations that involve a lot of sitting
-long periods of driving
-spending a lot of time on a new activity that your body may not be accustomed to, such as gardening or taking up a new sport.
Sitting causes an increase of pressure on your back. thus spending long periods of time sitting can cause things to go wrong with your back.
Once your back pain has established itself via a direct injury or postural overload, stress is a third factor that can have a negative impact. some examples of a stressful situations that can have this effect include:
- work stress
- relationship difficulties
- bereavement
- exam stress
the negative effect of stress on back pain is well established in medical research, when you are under the influence of stress, your body releases three chemicals into your system to help you cope with the stressful environment, these chemicals are:
-Epinephrine
nor-epinephrine
cortisol
These are important to help you deal with whatever stressful situation that you are dealing with. however, they have the unfortunate side effect of increasing the effect tension of the musculature of your back. in such instances, if there is a vulnerable area in your back, then this increase in muscular tension can lead to an increase in the intensity of your back pain.
